THINGS TO DO IN BATH

EXPLORE IN STYLE

Bath is well and truly spoilt in the ‘things to do’ department. Eating out, exploring the sights and drinking in the best of Bath’s culture are all popular escapades. If you’re strapped for time and want to cram in as much as possible you’ll love these novel ways to explore the city…

With the Wind in your Hair: Courtyard Carriages

For a completely relaxing and enjoyable way to take in the sights of the city including Great Pultney Street, Henrietta Park, Laura Fountain and more. A great way to celebrate that special occasion, birthday, anniversary, hen party or add a touch of romance to a wedding proposal.

On the Water: Pulteney Cruises

Running (or should we say cruising?!) between April – October, a boat trip on the Pulteney Princess will take you between Bath’s beautiful Pulteney Weir and the chocolate box village of Bathampton. On a fine day be sure to disembark at Bathampton Mill to have a look around before strolling back along the Kennet and Avon canal. Trips run approx. every 80 minutes.

From the Air: Balloon Rides

Up, up and away! Your hot air flight will begin at the Royal Victoria Park, just next to Bath’s famous Royal Crescent. You will ascend over the historic crescent, sipping Champagne as you drift over all the city’s well-known landmarks and out towards the surrounding countryside. Offering views of a bevy of picture-perfect English villages including Lacock, Castle Combe and Bradford-on-Avon, this is by far the smartest way to see Bath… and beyond!

By Road: Bath Bus Tours

The Bath Bus Company offers hop-on, hop-off open-top bus tours of the city. Our closest stop is at Queens Square (about 30 seconds away), after that the city really is your oyster! The big red buses stop right outside the Thermae Bath Spa, the Assembly Rooms, Bath Abbey and the botanical gardens as well as crossing Pulteney Bridge and heading down Bath’s best shopping quarter – Milsom Street. The bus tours don’t just cover the city centre, but also the outskirts of Bath. So once you’ve explored central Bath why not opt for a skyline tour? Beginning at the train station, you'll head out past the University of Bath, the American Museum in Britain (located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the stunning Prior Park Landscape Gardens.

Take a tour: In & Beyond Bath

In & Beyond Bath takes you on an adventure. Creating personalised, immersive journeys for world-curious, discerning travellers looking to connect with the past and discover authentic England. Each of our inclusive tours are carefully researched, planned and designed to allow you to go beyond the ordinary and connect with the history, stories, experiences, places and people that make our country so special. We get you off the beaten track, away from the well-worn tourist experience, to drive through ancient woods, across stunning landscapes, and deep into the countryside. We deliberately don't tell you everything about where we go, what we'll do and what you'll see - it's part of the magic! We will pick you up from the Harington's Hotel and drop you back after the tour. Additionally, the tours are all-inclusive so you don't have to worry about food or drink when you are exploring with us. Just bring some great walking shoes!
