By Road...

Bath's wonderfully central location means that it can be conveniently reached by a range of different routes when travelling by car. 

Here are some of the main approaches to bath by road, do give us a call on 01225 461728 if you get stuck (it happens to the best of us at one time or another!)


From the M4 Motorway

Please note that due to social distancing measures being implemented in the city centre, Milsom Street is closed between 10am - 6pm. During this time, to reach Harington's Hotel please drive to the end of George Street and then left onto Gay Street, you will then be able to turn left onto Old King Street which turns into John Street where you will see Harington's Hotel infront of you. It is easier to use the postcode for Ole Tapas for this route which is BA1 2JL.

From the M4, turn off at junction 18 and take the A46 to Bath. At the round-a-bout turn right onto the A420 towards Bristol. After less than half a mile, take the first left following 'Park and Ride' sign. Take the left at the T-junction, continuing to follow the 'Park and Ride' signs. Then, continue past the 'Park and Ride' and down the steep hill. At traffic lights at the bottom turn right, and then take the first left into Milsom Street followed by the first right into Quiet Street, and finally the first left into Queen Street. Harington’s Hotel is on your right.


From Bristol A4 or Wells A39

Please note that due to social distancing measures being implemented in the city centre, Milsom Street is closed between 10am - 6pm. During this time, to reach Harington's Hotel please drive to the end of George Street and then left onto Gay Street, you will then be able to turn left onto Old King Street which turns into John Street where you will see Harington's Hotel infront of you. It is easier to use the postcode for Ole Tapas for this route which is BA1 2JL.

From Bristol on A4 or Wells on A39 follow A4 signs to Bath or from Wells follow A39. Both routes converge at a large round-a-bout at Newton St Loe; continue on until you approach Bath on a dual carriageway. Keeping in the left-hand lane, take the first left fork approximately 50m before the end of the dual carriageway. You will then pass the 'Park and Ride' on your left. Continue straight on over various traffic lights always keeping in the left hand lane. Past the very large children’s play park on your left. In about 400m you will fork left (following the road) into Charlotte Street. Keep in the left hand lane and cross the top of Queens Square. Turn first left into Gay Street, followed by the first right into George Street and the first right into Milsom Street. After approximately 150m take first right into Quiet Street. After 50m take the first left into Queen Street. Harington’s Hotel is on your right.


From Chippenham on the A4

Please note that due to social distancing measures being implemented in the city centre, Milsom Street is closed between 10am - 6pm. During this time, to reach Harington's Hotel please drive to the end of George Street and then left onto Gay Street, you will then be able to turn left onto Old King Street which turns into John Street where you will see Harington's Hotel infront of you. From Chippenham on A4 follow the A4 signs to Bath. Continue straight on at the junction of the A4 with the A46. Continue straight on over various traffic lights. At the mini round-a-bout take the second turn off. Straight over the next traffic lights into George Street (stay in the left hand lane). Turn left into Milsom Street immediately after the pedestrian lights. After approximately 150m take first right into Quiet Street. After 50m take the first left into Queen Street. Harington’s Hotel is on your right.


From Frome and Warminster on A36

Please note that due to social distancing measures being implemented in the city centre, Milsom Street is closed between 10am - 6pm. During this time, to reach Harington's Hotel please drive to the end of George Street and then left onto Gay Street, you will then be able to turn left onto Old King Street which turns into John Street where you will see Harington's Hotel infront of you. It is easier to use the postcode for Ole Tapas for this route which is BA1 2JL.

From Frome and Warminster on A36 continue on until you come to the mini round-a-bout at the end of Beckford Street. Take the second turn off into Bathwick Street. Continue for about 300m and turn left at the traffic lights at the T-junction. At the mini round-a-bout take the second turn off. Straight over the next traffic lights (stay in the left hand lane) then turn left into Milsom Street immediately after the pedestrian lights. After approximately 150m take first right into Quiet Street and after another 50m turn first left into Queen Street. Harington’s Hotel is on your right.


By Rail...

The closest railway station is Bath Spa Railway Station; Harington's Hotel is super-easy to find from here. If walking, turn left out of the train station and walk along to the pedestrian crossing at the traffic lights. Cross the road here, and walk towards Southgate - the entrance to the high street. Carry on up along Stall Street, past Marks and Spencer, and continue in a straight line along Union Street past WH Smith. Just before you reach Milsom Street, turn left at the shop 'Kiehls' onto Quiet Street, and then take the first left onto Queen Street. Harington's Hotel is on the right-hand side. 

To walk from the train or bus station takes 10 to 15 minutes. Otherwise, a taxi will only take a few minutes and would usually cost around £4.00.
