Dog Walks in Bath

We recommend the following walks while staying at our dog friendly boutique hotel

Royal Victoria Park - Short and sweet

You’d be hard pressed to find a prettier spot for a dog walk. With the prestigious Royal Crescent as a stunning backdrop this is one of our favourite spots in the city. We recommend making an afternoon of it and taking a picnic (hey! Paws off those sandwiches, cheeky!) The great news is you don’t need to go far; Royal Victoria Park is just a 10 minute walk from Harington’s Hotel.

Bath Skyline Walk - Medium length walk

This 6 mile circular walk has it all. Take advantage of the elevated position and grab some great views of Bath from above. You’ll meander through secluded woodlands and wander wide open meadows. Plus, this walk is great at any time of year whether it’s the fragrant flowers of spring, summertime butterflies or autumnal fruits and rustling leaves underfoot.

What’s fantastic is that the start of the walk is located just 15 minutes stroll from the hotel. We’re confident you and your dog will really enjoy this one. Take a look at the National Trust website for their handy Bath Skyline walk map and useful information.

The Kennet and Avon Canal - As long as you like!

Walking alongside the charming Kennet and Avon canal can be as short and sweet or lengthy as you like. Take in some of the most scenic waterways in the UK with quaint canal boats and lovely pubs dotted along the route.

Why not walk the 10 mile route to gorgeous Bradford on Avon, stopping off for a well-deserved pint and tasty treat at a pup-friendly pub like The George at Bathampton, or the Crossguns in Avoncliff along the way. Visit points of interest such as the wonderful Warleigh Wier or the Dundas Aquaduct then, once you’ve successfully worn out those feet and paws, hop on the train back into Bath. The start of your canal walk is located roughly 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel. Take a look at the Canal River Trust website for maps and ideas.
